For versatile, image-stabilized operation and clear & bright 12x images look no further than Canon's 12x36 IS III. Whether in the hands of a hunter scouting a target, a birdwatcher looking for their favorite finch or a sports fan watching the batter swing, these binoculars offer outstanding image quality, speedy operation and an elegant, compact design.

Image Stabilization

Canon's improved Image Stabilization (IS) technology helps deliver smooth, extended viewing without the need for a tripod. Built-in Image Stabilizer (IS) corrects hand tremors for ±1° movement in all directions. With Vari-Angle prisms placed between the front lens and the main prism, when the binoculars' gyro sensors detect vertical or horizontal movement, these prisms compensate and correct any movements or shakes for smoother panning, no matter the speed. A high performance microcomputer using advanced algorithms not only improves IS, but also provides shorter startup times and more efficient energy consumption.

Optics

Canon's 12x36 IS III features a refined optical system design. Doublet field-flattener corrects spherical aberration for distortion-free views, especially at the edges, and wide angle 60° apparent angle of view deliver a truly immersive observational experience. Canon’s anti-reflection super spectra multi-coating reduces light loss and improves image contrast. A Porro prism optical path provides a rich depth of field to enable users to better judge distance between objects and a comfortable long 14.5mm eye relief. With 12x magnification and bright 36mm/1.42 in. objective lenses, the 12x36 IS III is engineered to perform beautifully both indoors and out.

Build

The 12x36 IS III uses glass optical components that are made of lead-free glass for an environmentally friendly lens. A textured, water-resistant rubber coating provides a sure grip. It has a refined, anti-reflective external design. Center-mounted focus and stabilizer controls offer great ergonomics with easy access for both hands. The binocular runs on two included, and readily available, AA batteries that will power the optic for up to nine hours at 77°F, or one hour at 14°F. No matter the user, no matter the situation, designed for portability and ease-of-use, it measures in with a compact length of 6.9" and weighs just over 23 oz.
